I have seen one video that highly recommends the Shimano Expride glass, 7’2” MH fast as one of the best rods under $300 for bladed jigs. Has anybody else used it for that or have other recommendations for a similar rod?

Do whatever you want, but does anyone have to pay $300 for a chatter bait rod?

This^

The best bladed jig fisherman I know uses an Ugly Stick - and he could use anything else he wanted.

I have this rod and can tell you with confidence, it is perfect for vibrating jigs. I have the H, but ordered the MH just this past week.

I was skeptical when someone told me this, but a dobyns colt 734 is a great chatterbait rod.

Following .. I'm a fan of the Exprides (B series). Have both spinning and casting .. I'm interested in feedback on the glass version too.

I heard that on the "Tackle Talk" podcast. Said that rod was on his mount Rushmore of top 3 rods ever. Cited that it can do a lot of things, but is the best rod he has every fished for a chatter bait. Also handles cranks, topwater, small swim baits etc. A real swiss army knife of a rod I guess.

I have not used one myself.

With all due respect, what makes it the "best" for chatter baits?

Agreed. I can’t see paying over $150 for a moving bait rod like that. I use a Lews Mach 1 rod that a buddy gave me to me for chatterbaits and spinnerbaits. Works perfectly good. Save that high end money for bottom baits

I have that exact rod. Its okay but I am not sure I would recommend it for the money I spent. I use my 20 yr old IMX 7' MH mostly for bladed jigs and big spinner baits. I do not like the new IMX line.
