Why is this so hard?
It is prom dress shopping season. Between 22 years of marriage and almost 18 years raising a female child, I understand that women like to have their feelings and opinions validated. Apparently, admitting that a dress is cute AND stating that it is slutty is not validating her feelings.
I guess cute and slutty cannot exist in the same garment?
If anyone knows how to safely navigate these waters, I could sure use a guide. Why is "cute" the only adjective females know. To me, a baby or kitten is cute. A dress isn't.
Be safe, Rayzor ![[Linked Image]](http://i418.photobucket.com/albums/pp267/JLedbetter/th_Boatpics036.jpg) 2001 Triton Tx-21/225 Mercury EFI

My daughter sent me a pic of a dress last week and her boobs are like 3/4 of the way out of this thing. Then asked me to pay 600 bucks for the dress. Mom replied she looked beautiful. I replied we are broke, and that dress should not cost as much because it was obviously missing some material.

My wife did the dress shopping with the daughter and knew me all too well. The statement “your daddy ain’t gonna let you out the house in that dress” was repeated a few times before settling on a dress. My only responsibility at that point was to say….”you look beautiful babygirl”.

Bought my daughter’s wedding dress about a year ago. Kinda sad with the realization that was the last dress to be bought. Daughter is beautiful and was/is very modest so was never an issue at my house.

when she askes questions ---- your first reply should be simple 1) do you want me to help solve this " problem " ? 2) do you want me to just listen ??
It's that simple ---- 90% of the time they just want us to listen

Daughter is beautiful and was/is very modest so was never an issue at my house. Mine married what would be considered later in life but for taste in wedding dresses, your daughter and mine sound the same way. Mine took forever to find the right guy and sure went through a bunch till they found each other. I could not custom order a son in law any better. I thank God they found each other. They went all over the place including New Zealand after they got married and then a year later they had my grandson. It’s about the polar opposite from the way I did it. I hope I can hang on long enough to be able to help him catch his first fish. Already got him one of those kid size fishing rods. Maybe the good Lord will see his way clear to let that happen.

Never had the problem. I have two boys that are grown up. My oldest son will be going through the prom dress cycle next year with my grand daughter. Time flies, they grow up fast.

reason #1123 I am glad I do not have daughters, calling her choice of a prom dress "cute and slutty" on a public forum on the other hand be glad it's your daughter in a prom dress, it's safe bet a lot of the dems prob have sons who are dress shopping as well

I didn’t even think of that…..so glad my daughter was raised and married off before the Facebook, twitter and Instagram nonsense became a thing. My condolences for fathers that have to raise daughters in social media era. I am happy now that I only have grandsons.

Worked with a guy that had 2. He said his worst fear was that all 3 women in the house would be on the rag at the same time.

My daughter is 15 and I have two years before I have to worry about prom dresses. Right now she is still just my buddy. Yesterday we drove to Austin and went to the UT baseball game then ate lunch then went to the basketball game. We have a blast traveling the state and country watching Longhorn games for all sports. Then I watch her play volleyball where she rocks it as a defensive specialist. She has me wrapped around her finger and knows it, but she only takes advantage of it to do fun stuff with Dad. ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2025/03/full-18724-262347-e_and_ba_ut_baseball.jpeg)

That’s awesome I remember when my daughter first got her license to drive. I skipped work and she skipped school and we went to a Rangers day game. Wished we would have done more of that type of thing. You are living the dream my friend !!
