It's been a few years since I renewed my membership. Do they still offer the optima battery discount for members? I need to replace a couple batteries.

For what Optima's cost you could go lithium and never worry about replacing them again.

group 31s for $165. At this price point not sure why anyone would not go Lith.

My Golden Mate's were a bit more 230 a piece after taxes., but a bit more fancy.

After watching my buddy's brand new boat and truck burn down and then him fighting with insurance companies as to whether truck, boat, or homeowners insurance was going to cover the damage, I'm content with my blue tops.

Funny part is all three policies were with the same company, but yet they still argued back and forth on who was going to cover what. I believe there was also some discussion with the insurance companies trying to get Skeeter or the battery manufacturer to pay up. Going on a year, and I still don't think he has gotten paid.

This has always been my fear of using them. What's causing the fires? Over charging?

SLA = Lead acid batteries. If we can use one off incidents to make our case for all, i have 2 instances where we might want to stay away from Lead acids.

Make me laugh when someone says Lithium batteries are potential fire hazards, Cause all batteries are.

I have had a lead acid blow up…..more than once. Once it blew the hood open on a truck. Both times I was luckily try to start the vehicle and I wasn’t hurt.
