Do you remember or did you go up the river to the old house on the Mexico side and have a few beers with the locals? It was years back when the lake was full and I believe we called it red house or red roof. Not something you could do now if the lake was full. Back when the fishing was at its finest!!

I always thought that house looked spooky and might be a cartel storage area.

I launched at the high bridge and fished all the way back down the lake. Never went to that place.

Red roof house is in the Box Canyon area. The place you’re talking about was up in Zeuberbueler bend. Always heard they sold more than beer. Never was open during my time of fishing the lake.

I'm sure that there was more things sold than we wanted to hear about.

I remember the old church steeple that was above water level just as you turned left to enter either Zorro or Burro- cant remember which. We used to wear ourselves out catching eaters with cheesebait under corks. The action back in there was amazing!

My buddy was always telling me that it was a whore house. So, I say to him. “Oh yeah, they why don’t we ever see any females walking around outside”? In fact, he never saw anyone at the house and he’s been fishing the lake since it was dammed up.
