Looks like it's gone too. Was a good eatery a decade+ ago. Seems the filed for bankruptcy today.

The one in Amarillo closed about 15 years ago. When it comes to Tex-Mex you gotta be good to survive in West Tx.

Another one that grew too fast and lost what it meant to be quality eats.

years ago I like there guca, queso, and salsa, along with their food but they started changing their menu about 10 years ago I haven't been back since about 2018.

like other stated just not has good and local texmex is usually better food.

Glad I never had any Brinkers stock. Romanos Macoroni Grill, On the Border...Chili's your up next. Every time I've eaten Chilis in like the last 5 yrs, everything tastes like paste or something. Zero flavor or different texture.

20 + years ago it was just ok...that does not cut in today's Tex Mex world.

Their chips are very good, sort of like El Fenix. They were better when Chili's owned them, though.

On the Border used to be a good place to eat. The one in Lubbock that opened 25-28 years ago was really good. Haven’t eaten at one in probably 5 years.

It was not my favorite, but overall, I did like it for chain Tex Mex.

It also was a great name for a restaurant.

...!

The last one my daughter and I ate at was in Plano. The food was terrible as was the service.
They put some kind of brown spice all over the food, really, really heavy. They asked if I wanted to have it replaced, but I was pretty sure I wouldn't have wanted to eat the replacement food. We just paid, left and drove back home. Stopped along the way and got some snacks to hold us over.
