Why not use the 15% or 18% rule for tipping? If you feel like the guide went far and bound; give a little more. I've never hired a guide but I was always curious about tipping.

The trip was awesome! My dad had the best day on the water he ever has. He caught 5 different species of fish all on a bait I would have never thrown. The guide was great, very fun to talk to, and really took great care to make sure my dad had a great time. Dad caught his pb smallmouth, striper, white bass, and blue cat. He also had a large mouth close to 5 lbs. He caught a lot of fish, and a lot of big fish. I appreciate y'alls advice on the tips! The guide was Charles Whited, he far exceeded my expectations.

Ah. Nothing like that. It was kinda funny and self deserving.

I told him I fished a lot in Texas. 3-4 days a week most weeks. We talked for a while before we left and I backed his boat in and parked. He then let me run the boat. I was getting pretty big headed. He asked if i wanted him to rig my “bottom hopper” rig with a worm. I said “nah….i don’t need anyone baiting my hook”. Then he rigged my step dad’s rod for him and my step dad started catching fish after fish. I was getting mad, it wouldn’t say a word. The guide again asked if he could bait my hook…I laughed and said no. I never got a bite. I was in the front running the tolling motor. I even put my bait IN FRONT OF my step dad’s bait. He’d catch em…me zero zilch nada. After we loaded up, the guide said he has never seen a stubborn Texan as bad as me. He said I rigged my worm so straight it wouldn’t twist in the water. Walleye won’t eat it if it doesn’t twist. Hahaha.

I said I deserved the [censored] whoopin.

He was a really nice guy and one of the best walleye anglers in SD and Lake Oahe.

Screw walleye fishing. roflmao

haha, he's right, they even make a "slow death" hook these days to make worms roll around...
