Agreed. There is really no excuse for eating there the last 30 years or so.

Living in a state other than Texas is a valid excuse to eat at dickeys…it’s still better than the trash some other states call “bbq”

Haven't eaten Q in all 50 states, but all the states in the deep South and Western states can cook. I love the variety of styles.

Add Bill Miller's to that . . . .

We have a couple here in Washington state. I never seen a smoker so that keeps me from going there.

Just like with Dairy Queen, not all locations are created equal… The one on Ballpark way just north of 30 in Arlington is one of the good ones. I’ve had the ribs, brisket, turkey, and chicken breast… all are absolutely delicious. Sides have always been on point. I’ve been to all the top bbq places in our area, Dickies isn’t the best but the one on Ballpark is pretty damn good!

There's one about 15 miles south of me. I haven't been by it in a few years so don't know if it is still there, but have eaten lunch there in the past and I thought it was good. If I was going to a sit down dinner BBQ restaurant there are certainly better choices around here, but for fast food lunch BBQ it's decent.

About the only meals I have ever had at Dickies is a chopped beef sandwich with maybe beans and slaw, really cannot remember a time where I thought it was bad, but then again, how hard is it to make a chop beef. Hate to see them fail, it is a tough business.

T.D. Dickey is spinning in his grave.

They opened one here in Nac in a gas station. I don’t know where the meat comes from, but there is not a piece of wood or a bit of smoke in sight.

Dickeys had to be good at one time, They have stores all over the place.

I have tried it a few times, wasn't really that good.

They sold franchises to anyone with a pulse. They destroyed their own brand.

^^^Yep

Early 80s when it was just that one on Knox Henderson around here…..they were OK….but still not as good as their 1980s Mike Anderson and Sonny Bryan’s competition

About 1995 or so when the masses were tiring of shameful DFW bbq quality; Dickey’s had a decision to make….keep offering franchises and allow below terrible Spring Creek quality, or spend some money and kick up the quality a notch or two. They chose the easier, cheaper path.

I hope Bill Millers is next. They suck worse than Dickeys
