I have a 36V Motorguide XI5 trolling motor. The shaft of the armature appears to be slightly bent, causing a decent amount of wobble when the propeller is turning. Has anyone replaced the armature on an Xi5? If so, how difficult is it? TIA

Has anyone replaced the armature on an Xi5? If so, how difficult is it? TIA Replacing the armature can be a pain due to its brushes and springs. Motorguide used to sell "forks" for securing the brushes, but they haven't been available for years. There are some videos online that show tricks on securing them with monofilament. Make sure you replace the housing seals and O-rings at the same time.
