The iconic Sonny Bryan’s in Dallas tried the expansion move after Sonny died and it quickly became obvious bigger wasn’t better.

Agreed. There is really no excuse for eating there the last 30 years or so.

Living in a state other than Texas is a valid excuse to eat at dickeys…it’s still better than the trash some other states call “bbq”

I've never had a good slice of brisket there, seems like always the trimmings off the point, mostly fat.

I remember eating at dickeys several times, it wasn’t very good. Spring creek was way better as far as chains go.

I think Dickey's does the BBQ for Bucee's in a lot of the locations.

Sorry for the business and its employees, but I have never been a fan.

Been to a few of their restaurants over the years.

Dickeys barbecue that I ate never was very good.

There was one in Cleburne, and it was actually pretty good. Very outdated store and I think there was gambling in the back room. Only Dickies I'd ever had that wasn't sick It got closed 2 yrs ago and there is now a brand new Murphy's gas station there. I still have several of their good old fashioned 32oz cups.

I was recently brought some brisket from the DFW Airport location and it was delicious. I was happily surprised.

It's probably like most chains. One location is excellent while another one is not. For instance Rudy's BBQ in Tyler is not good at all, their location at 35/ Western Center is always excellent.

When I was in school, my instructor liked to go to the one in Cleburne, so we'd go there a few times. I ALWAYS got heartburn from it...never had that with any other BBQ place. The free ice cream was a nice touch, but no. Dickey's and Colter's are both nasty.
