I just started fishing glide baits and I quickly have fallen in love... What glide baits can you not live without?

Does anybody locally in DFW make some custom out of their house?

I'm pretty partial to my KGB Chad Shads(resin version). The KGB/Spro collab ABS version is good but it's not as good as the resin to me. I also am a big fan of the Baitsanity Chimera. The Flutch Eco is a favorite too. I prefer chop style glides.

For super affordable the Bucca Baits Trick Shad ABS is great. I'm liking the new BPS XPS Swerve 6" with brushed tail. For under $20 they are a steal. I just bought 2 of the new Toad Thumper Sway glides. They are inexpensive and honestly are some of the nicest blanks I've seen. Super clean lines, BKK hooks. They seem well made.

Oh Sir, I have no reason to own any baits anymore. We have no water to fish in South Texas anymore. BUT….if we did, I’d have to own exactly ZERO; because I’m poor!

I bought some of the new version with the brush tail as well as tge prior version with the rubber trail. I feel like the brush tail version swims and fishes better. It's more responsive etc. Both a re made well though. Really a steal of a value.

Back when we did have water, I caught a few on this model. Steve Kennedy said that he uses the Sneaky Pete as well.

I almost bought one at Cabela's today but decided to try a few trick shads. That great info though I will have to try them out. I got a spro Chad and a eco shad based on your recommendations and I think I got the swim bait fever. I have been working on my finesse game this last few years and the glide bait game has got me back to power fishing.

Also what rods do you throw your glides on?

I have two swimbait focused rods...Dobyns Fury 796 paired with a Lew's Heavy Duty and a Loomis IMX Pro 965 paired with a Shimano Calcutta Conquest MD. Find the fury a bit stiff for treble hook glidebaits.....mostly use it for large plastic padletails. Like the Loomis better for the treble hooked hardbaits. That being said find that rod needs at least. 2 ounce weight to perform so for small glides (iSlides, s-wavers, etc) will work just fine on a graphite (not glass) heavy crankbait rod or a MBR type action rod.

Sounds to me like you have plenty of glide baits.

There is no holy grail; there is no magic bait.

Fish with what you have a lot, get to know the glide baits you have….different retrieves…etc.
Dedicate yourself to the ones you have….sleep with them if you have to.

Yeah that's the game plan I plan to just only take those baits out this spring and basically don't fish anything else forces you to learn it.
