She quit and went to a different shop when they told her she had to watch their 2yr old during the day I'd quit too!

Work can be a pain in the butt.
You’re talented, experienced and could get another job in short order. You wouldn’t have to put up with that BS anymore.
But the new place has its own brand of BS. Not the same but still BS.

I mean, if I was told to pack my tools, I would have backed my truck up into the bay and started doing just that.
But I also would've have pulled this guy aside and been like:
Hey boss, I'm not directing my frustration at you, it's focused at the situation. We need someone here that can help catalog and correctly order parts. If that person is you, then what do you need from me to make this job effortless. I don't feel I'm being consulted with these builds, so I'm stuck with parts that make this job more difficult and time consuming. Which costs the company more in the long run. Which you and I both know may not get passed on to the customer.

…for bitching about my boss and his son ordering the wrong parts EVERY TIME. gave up on doing the AC on the Chevelle yesterday. Decided I’d install the new steering column while I waited on them to get the correct AC parts. Well…I opened the box as he walked by, and I said “well….lets just NEVER order the right [censored]”. He said “just load up your [censored] and get outta here…I’m tired of your bitching”… “but, put that car back together first”. Then his wife came over and asked me what I needed for the car. And what wood she needed to order for the trunk build. I said I don’t need anything. Your husband fire me and he’s retarded if he thinks I’m gonna put this POS back together…THEN LEAVE.
5 minutes later I got the biggest “knee crawling up” apology I have ever been given. He said he was sorry and will always check with me before he orders parts.
I’m still pissed off. I haven’t done a thing all morning. Steaming !!
You know Steez, with many specialty businesses the true craftsman ARE the business.... sounds like you're DEFINITELY an example of exactly this... However, I would sit down with the owner and calmly clear the air.... hehehe

He just walked up….said “hey this owner brought a replacement equalizer for his car” “it’s a warranty swap….it better be the exact same part” one look, I said” nope. It’s different. It ain’t even the same brand. “. I said I don’t care. I’ll stuff it in the dash with double side tape. Haha. He sees it’s a frustration. Nothing ever is done right. Ever ever ever. F it. So it’s got a little gap on each side. I left a note and said “if these gaps bother you, $200 I’ll fix it, or you can go back and get the right parts”.

That would suck just buying a new boat and all? Nah. Paid for the boat out of my rainy day fund. I’d just go fishing. Btw….anyone want a deal on a Skeeter with a LOT of extras on it. I need to put some money back in the rainy day fund.
