Either way, kudos to those of you that can still do it-

I believe Tenacious D has a song to encourage a different type of push-up that you could partake in!

There’s truly no excuse. If you “can’t” run, hop on an elliptical

Or just lift. I’ve been lifting without cardio for 20 years because running suxs.
Leave the running in the gym to the man bun dudes with the spandex leggings.
Now I won’t live as long as a runner, but I’ll be happier.

I lift at least 4 days a week and will cardio at least 3 of those days. My cardio is on the elliptical, because it doesn’t bother my knees or ankles.

I still lift heavy, but not as heavy as I once did. Mostly because I lift alone and am picky about my spotters. When my son is home, he puts me through the wringer and makes me keep up with him on the weights.

I’ll be 48 next month, and 12 reps of pushups wouldn’t even be a sufficient warm up.

Same but I’m afraid I’ll start slacking on lifting once my boys move out. I hate lifting but it’s so much easier when you have a 16 & 18yo full of testosterone telling you to stopping being a flappy P and hit the bench

My son checks in on me daily to ask if I went to the gym. He’s a college athlete, so he takes it pretty seriously and will make fun of me if I miss a day. He’ll be home next week, which means my whole body will hurt for a few days, because he lifts very heavy.

I haven't been able to run since my back surgery 30 years ago. In fact, I haven't been able to b exercise since my head injury 10 months ago. However, prior to that I was doing 600 wall pushups every other day and swimming 2.5 to 3 hours a day during the summer. This week, I've started trying to exercise again and am up to 20 minutes a day on the stationary bike. My doctor has me wearing compression socks while I exercise to help keep me from getting dizzy.

As to the OP, you'd be surprised at the number 15, 25, 35 and 45 year old males that can't do 12 push-ups.

be honest, could you do it without TRT?

I can do about 75 straight now.....

And full disclosure Bob you don't do trt because you want to do 12, you do trt because you want to do 75. That stuff and some work out shaves years off how you feel and what you can do in the gym. I don't think most who haven't tried it realize how far into the couch they have sank. And ghost is correct. 12 isn't even a warm up for a workout. But to be honest I'm not suprised just go stand in Walmart and look around.

Correct, some here think their wife doesn't want to anymore, the truth is their wife doesn't want to with them anymore

Its was surprisingly easy to figure things out really-

What has happed to you does not define who you are-

HOW you react to what happens to you DOES!

Considering how ridiculously easy it is to increase VO2 max it's a no trainer to do it.

What kind of exercise do you do to increase your vo2 max?

I can be guilty of being lazy myself so I count myself in the group that can do better.

I would say an overwhelming majority of America cannot jog 1 mile without stopping.

I would say an overwhelming majority of America wouldn’t even attempt to jog 1 mile.

Look up "HIIT".

High-Intensity Interval Training.

Same. I do some in between too…never use max effort. I’d say I average around 40,000 - 45,000 per weekday.

On the weekends I’ll up that by 10k or so…maybe 60,000 Saturday then again Sunday.
