My last stress test about a year and a half ago, I had to go all out running on a treadmill on incline to get my heart rate up to target. They were pushing me with encouragement and I barely made it, I haven’t run like that in 20 years, bout kilt me.

Yeah, at 63 I should be running marathons

Sad. I got out of shape for about 3 months after I retired. Decided I like sex so got unlazy real quick.

There’s truly no excuse. If you “can’t” run, hop on an elliptical

Or just lift. I’ve been lifting without cardio for 20 years because running suxs.
Leave the running in the gym to the man bun dudes with the spandex leggings.
Now I won’t live as long as a runner, but I’ll be happier.

I'd like to see pull ups. What percentage of the population, if their life depended on it, could do a single honest, chin above the bar, pull up?

I do 120 push ups every day, 4 sets of 30. My right shoulder is having issues so I am having to take a few days off and it’s killing me

75 straight then you are strong and don’t have any excess weight on you.

I lift at least 4 days a week and will cardio at least 3 of those days. My cardio is on the elliptical, because it doesn’t bother my knees or ankles.

I still lift heavy, but not as heavy as I once did. Mostly because I lift alone and am picky about my spotters. When my son is home, he puts me through the wringer and makes me keep up with him on the weights.

I’ll be 48 next month, and 12 reps of pushups wouldn’t even be a sufficient warm up.

So, is all this physical ability translate into more lovin?
Or is this only mirror victories.?

Either way, kudos to those of you that can still do it-

What has happed to you does not define who you are-

HOW you react to what happens to you DOES!

I can only speak for myself but when I'm out of shape I just feel worse. It's just a worse quality of life in general. Too many people have been out of shape literally their entire lives and can't even comprehend what I just said.

Same but I’m afraid I’ll start slacking on lifting once my boys move out. I hate lifting but it’s so much easier when you have a 16 & 18yo full of testosterone telling you to stopping being a flappy P and hit the bench
