They just moved it to 2026 and 2027. It's like Jerry learned nothing. Now next year's cap hit is $76M and 2027 is $71M. Horrible numbers.
Unfortunately he's not worth half that, so there was no need to kick the can down the road. Tank for some good draft picks and start the rebuild. Or continue to push off when we can be competitive.

I know the Cowboy fans want to believe they can have a good team. They have a ways to go just ot catch up to the Eagles and Redskins right now who both have good teams they are building on. The Redskins are also going to make a ran at it next year if JD doesn't have a fall off year.
I hope Dallas can make a ran that will absolutely make for good football in the conference

Tank ? Only way that will ever happen is if they hit the bottom and lose 13 plus games a year, and not because of injuries.

Tank ? Only way that will ever happen is if they hit the bottom and lose 13 plus games a year, and not because of injuries. Right I said 2-3 years ago they didn't have a super bowl team and they should start tanking for picks. We didn't do it then, and now we're even further from a super bowl than we were then, with a horrible, franchise-killing contract on a league-average QB. Yes, they need some early picks, and they need a GM who can use them wisely. Unfortunately they won't have or get either. Look at last year's playoffs - nearly all the QBs were 27 or younger - Herbert, Love, Nix, Stroud, Daniels, Hurts, Darnold, etc. But we have $147M cap hit on Dak just in 2026 and 2027??? And I don't think there has been a single instance in the history of the NFL where a QB has been with a team for 8+ seasons with 2 or less playoff wins where that QB went on to win a super bowl with that team. The time to course correct, if they didn't want to tank, was to let Dak play out his last year (you could still tag him if you wanted past that), move up in last year's draft and take 1 of the 5 or 6 good first round QBs, and build around the talent you did have. Now they've had a useless 2024 free agency where they lost a bunch of talent so they could re-sign Dak, their best OL is now retired, they have no pass rush and no ability to stop the run, no OL to protect Dak, and no RB. So you can't even draft a QB right now and expect him to be successful because he's playing with CD Lamb and glorified college talent around him. So if you're trying to win a SB, the only option is to tank, draft OL and DL, and hope for Arch Manning or someone similar in 3 years. If your goal is to sell tickets and merch, you do exactly what Jerry is doing.

No, Jerrah will make another bonehead play like he did last year when he signed Ezekiel Elliott on a one-year, $3 million deal instead of signing Derrick Henry who would’ve had a cap hit of $5 million.
Jones is a certified idiot but you Cowboys Sunshine Pumpers keep doing your job.
