My wife gets a text telling her has outstanding toll fees. It's a total scam don't fall for it, there is no plate#, no photo, no location. We called the Harris County Toll Road Authority to ask about it, they have been alot of calls about
scams like this. Don't fall it!!

I think there's been a thread earlier on this along with just about every cities Facebook page is flooded with this warning. Seems it's still making rounds.

Nowadays I just assume everything is a scam if it's someone I don't know.

I reply to their texts with one word - BULLS**T.

It's a sad state of affairs; AI will either fix it or make it so unbearable that we all unplug.

I don’t even open if it’s from someone I don’t know…just delete. I only recieve calls from my contact list….text and emails get trashed if they are from someone I know.

Human nature. Talk about a “hoot.”

I got scammed a while back, pretty savvy. I had some medical issues over these past few years and had multiple ER visits to different hospitals, different ambulance services etc...so when it was time to start paying back bills, I would pay the ones I could, or setup a plan if it was too much. no big deal. well, I started noticing I was getting the same bill, only for $150-200 for the "ambulance" services. Took me a few months of getting my bills down enough to see the pattern. I tried calling the # on the bill to setup a pay plan (find out how much I owe), and it was disconnected. The bills were small enough I was just paying, not keeping my records and due diligence. so my fault.

Wife and I both received this text. Wish we could get Elon Musk’s team to weed out these scammers.

I've got several of these. If the number sent from is looked, it has a country code "63" which is The Philippines. First hint that it is a scam.

I got 1. I rarely take toll roads. 1 day I took a short drive on the Chisholm Trail. Within a few days I got the toll road scam text. I don't think it was a coincidence. Somehow the scammers knew I had taken a toll road. No toll roads since and no scam texts. I can see people falling for who don't use toll roads. I know that NTTA mails bills and does not text.

That’s the safest assumption.
