Got shook down a lot when I traveled to Mexico hack in the late 80's. Fishing there is on my bucket list but really have no desire to go thru that corrupt place again.

I have been 3 times to Baccarac through Los Mochis with no issues. Bad part is we have to fly to San Diego ,cross to Tijuana and fly to Los Mochis.

It's dangerous driving through certain parts of any metro area. No doubt Culiacan is more dangerous than usual right now, but in general the Cartel has no interest in tourists. I've got young kids; I wouldn't have gone or invited my friends if I didn't think it was safe. I wouldn't advise walking around at night, drunk, with gold chains on... but outside of that you'll be fine. You are transported to the lake by experienced Mexican drivers who make the trip almost daily. There are guys groups down there fishing virtually every day outside the rainy season. Give Josh a call before your trip. He'll shoot you straight on the safety situation.
I get everyone risk/reward profile is different. You couldn't pay me to go to Sugar right now. You've got to do your own math.
I've been to Baccarac three years in a row now and plan to keep going. The bite on that lake doesn't exist anywhere in the states. Not even close in my opinion.

Looks like it was a great trip.
I've been following Pro Bass Adventures on Instagram for a while now. They do a great job promoting their business.

What a great trip you guys had always been on my bucket list too.i can’t imagine catching 100+ in a few days you would have cut fingers for weeks, but would be worth it. Glad you guys had a safe trip.

Glad you guys had a safe trip. Last year I had a day where I caught 173 in a single day myself. The boat had nearly 250 on the day. Those were 85% 2.5-4lbers though. The other 15% 5-8lbers. This year was lower numbers but much bigger fish on average. I'm sure we could have piled the numbers up if we wanted to beating the bank, but we fished deeper water for bigger fish.
