New to area. About to get boat ready for lake. Is it a good lake for whites and strippers or hybrids?

Dbones, yes it is a good lake for striper's and white's, read the fishing reports by Michael Acosta on Texas Parks and Wildlife website. They are new each week on Wednesday late afternoon they are updated. I have personally hired him for a guided trip on Granbury with great success last May. The whites this time of year are up the river near the tin top area, and staging near the river mouth close to Hunter Park. For the striped bass look closer to the dam the first major turn the river makes north from the dam is called striper alley. Fish right along the channel ledges and adjacent flats for the stripers in this area, I hear using a umbrella rig is a good trolling method. Seems to me that the stripers always prefer the live shad though. Good luck and tight lines!!
