I moved to Waco a year or so ago. sense then this lake has kicked my butt. I can find fish but usually small ones. Everything I know about crappie I have tried. Whats the scoop on this lake? I also went to Aquilla a couple times dont really know anything about it. I can usually find a few fish on a new lake but Central Texas has not been nice to me at all .

Aquilla and Waco have a lot of pressure for their size. You are going to be hard pressed to find fish much larger than the minimum length limit.

If you live in the Waco area, it's worth it to give Tradinghouse Creek Reservoir a look. I put a limit of 11"-13" fish in the cooler on Friday. Lots of fish in the little man-made canal that was used for discharge when the power plant was operational.

I actually fish that exact spot Friday afternoon and did not catch a crappie. Caught 3 bass. I haven’t went to minnows yet but I’m about to. I saw a lot of fish on my scope but could not get any to bite. I fished in the middle on the little brush that is there and I fished shallow not on crappie bite. I think I need another hobby.lol
