They can get big -- we have them in creeks in the San Antonio area.

A good part of my family are pure cajuns. I've seen them eat coot, gar, even peacock. Nutria rat? Nope.

Went to expos before where game wardens cooked all kinds of exotic food. If I went to one where they were cooking nutria, I would try it.

I'll try just about anything once, but nutria is not very high up on my priority list. I didn't realize they were up in the northwest. Thought they were a warm weather rat.

Years ago NOLA was offering a bounty on them. They were undermining the strength of the levee around the city.
Thousands and thousands were brought in for payment. They were being exported to Korea for harvest and processing.
