5 yr old ultrex 112, just replaced batteries few days ago , made sure wiring went on correctly, it's been sitting for about a year. I have power to the pedal but no go. Where to begin? PS it was not working before I changed batteries either

Will it do anything g with the remote or the Bluetooth app? It could be as simple as the momentary button isn’t making contact. It could be the the motor. It is a very simple motor setup from the motor all the way to the pedal. There is a large circuit board under the pedal that has been known to fail. You will need to remove the metal base from the bottom of the foot pedal and get a meter out and check for voltage starting where the power comes into the board. Then also check the speed dial on the side of the pedal.

Most common problem is the magnetic switch under the foot button. It has to be very close to the switch to make contact when you put your weight on it.

Or it could be dead batteries

You the man, for suggesting try remote, dummy tired worked perfectly. so does your suggestion on the pedal prove more clarity to the pedal having that issue? I'm so glad I asked on this board, I've not been here for a while. I REALLY appreciate it, thanks

I started to ask that when I mentioned possible dead batteries. It happens.

Not stupid at all...

I have fished for as long as you have, and having fished that many years I have had so many things happen that over time my initial gut reaction to EVERY issue is "aw [censored]...now what???" and having that reaction can blind you to the most obvious solutions.
Example, I turn the power to the trolling motor on and nothing...Instantly my mind goes to the worst case scenario and the complicated ways in which to address it....when all I did was forget to trip the breaker before launching....

Yep. Admit it or not, we have all been there and done it.

New stuff, new operating quirks. Did the same thing on my Ghost one time.
