I have a couple of inflatable life jackets, never used, but about 10-12 years old, inflate by pulling lanyard, do these have expiration or need new co2 how do you know if they are good unless you pull the lanyard

They have a little disc full of a powdery substance that dissolves when wet, which triggers the vest to inflate.
Yours might work, but I wouldn’t risk it, I had one that was older not deploy when it got old, a rearming kit can be bought for $10.
Honestly a non inflating vest is best option, zero doubt it will work when you need it

I replace my Co2 canisters yearly along with the powder spindle. Out here, the humidity degrades the powder fast, so I don't risk it. I've been looking at the Mustang higher end vests, but I have a really nice Ranger boats vest that is traditional style, that I wear more now.
