He’s one of the original scopers and is very good with it. It played a big part of him coming up through the opens just a few years ago.

Yeah i think he’s pretty good at scoping, he’s had panoptix for a long time, garmin guy, he was scoping before it was called scoping.

What happened to Scott last year? Did he forget how to shake a minner? Just didn't want to do well? 92nd wasn't very impressive.

No it's not... Scott Martin just showed you how easy it is to get caught up in a situation that might cost him a win, a check and a spot in next years classic. I just can't see how he got Dq'ed for something he didn't initiate... Like I said earlier, there's a thread coming soon on how much a prick angler A is "because turned and walked away when I said Hi"... My 5 year old son was crushed... Dan

Maybe but doubt it. Last 4 years: 92, 44, 38, 42. Even with a 102nd place finish this year that would have him at an average of 62, so I think he would still be very clear of the cut.

That's way better than I thought. I was thinking he only had one really good year. He strung 3 together. You just really hate to see a deal like this cause a guy to loose his spot. I saw a post Showing Roland on an interview this morning, and he seemed a little salty about the DQ. You could tell Scott was bothered, but was taking it.

He won a Bassmaster Open last year using his FFS. He is very strong with it, but he is running multiple businesses and often times shooting shows on every tournament trip. I think he knows what his real job is and uses the tournaments to assist that job. Unfortunately, that probably doesn't help his tourney finishes.

Yup, when you compile his flw earnings, bass, social media and sponsorship dollars he is probably one of the most successful out there in the industry. Add in his other business interests and he has written the book on how to be successful in the modern fishing game

TxBazzn that's really my point. If he got the boot from the Elites I don't think he could re-qualify. These kids fishing the opens are dogs....they are out for blood. Scott is a business man, and if it's time or ability I just don't see it happening. He could win an Open like someone else said to fish a classic. Day in day out he's not going to compete at that level against the youngsters.

Well good luck to him. He's going to need it real soon. It shouldn't be no big deal for him.

Anyone that pays attention to competitive fishing can see the OBVIOUS. FFS vs None in bass tournaments wins EVERY time. Lots of playing around with limiting FFS to periods or days by the big boys has clearly exposed the advantage of front lookers, side lookers, rear lookers, shallow-water anchor lookers. Without question.

The only remaining question is how will the tours deal with it after the 2025 season?

Ban it and 80% of these kids that are “such dogs” will be gone the first year. Another 15% the following season. Keep it full time and watch this hobby/sport die by 2030. Won’t be anything but digital content.

Coincidence is His way of remaining anonymous.

Didn't Lowen just win an Elite without FFS and Lane a BPT without it?

I do agree with you that I think more limitations or outright bans are coming sooner rather than later at the pro level.

I wouldn’t call the kids “dogs” I would call them privileged. Surprising how much parents are willing to fund. More than ever before. I would say may parents are pretty well off, and no way in heck would they have funded a boat, much less supported me to go fish bass tournaments. Haha. No way Jose.
