Should the 49ers resign him to a contract that will set the market? They will be in the same boat as the Cowboys, top dollar on a mediocre QB with no money for supporting cast. Do you let him walk? Wondering what our forum GM would do?

I hope they sign him and it sets them back further than the Cowboys.

Purdy has four playoff wins (twice as many as Dak) and a strong Super Bowl appearance.
He should and will get paid more than Dak.

He should and will get paid more than Dak. * If Dak was getting paid what he was worth. That is a very important asterisks on your statement. I agree 100% that Purdy is better than Dak, but no way is Purdy worth the contract Dak got. Dak is paid 10x the value he brings to the team. If I'm the SanFran GM, there's no way I hamstring my team with a similar QB contract.

I have a feeling, they will sign him on for another round of punishment.
He's done really well for them. His stats and winning percentages are darn good.
He's a system based QB, which is how the Niners like to run their games.
He's seems to get along with his teammates, coach, and staff.
He's not injured all the time. Nor has he been on the "concussion protocol."
