Hospitals will treat everyone the same when they enter the Emergency Department.

So what happens when an illegal gets hurt or even killed while working for someone? Do the other illegals just drag them off into a ditch somewhere? I mean if they are illegal I’m sure they are not insured, what happens if they destroy your house? I think most people are comfortable not asking questions about insurance when it comes time to get their yard mowed. This is what happens. Someone says “dang I’m going out of town for a month and need my yard mowed”. They go to the grocery store and as they walk in, they see a sign that says “lawn mowing service”, you call the number, get a quote, and they mow your yard. No one I know makes it anymore complicated. Uninsured, cash money lawn mowing has been going on in this country since lawns with grass. You really think this is something that’s going away?

Maybe they work with less complaints and with less of a burden on workers comp claims?
The answer tends to be follow the money.
If the payroll money is the same or higher; there are other costs that are significantly less.
It is not even close to being the same. Why would anyone pay same rate for low skilled compared to skilled/highly skilled? Everyone knows they are not paid equally, do not pay taxes unless they are drawing welfare like those on work visas, and they send most of their money home therefore hurting our economy. The people who hire them knows exactly why they hire them, it dang sure isn’t for professional results! That’s just it. It’s not skilled labor that many hire whoever for. Pulling weeds, mowing grass, clearing brush out of an overgrown fence line, pressure washing your driveway. All sorts of chore type work can be done by unskilled labor. Nobody I know is asking for social security numbers for an unskilled labor job to get done. If a fence is being built, maybe 5 guys show up, 1 legal, 4 illegal. Cash is paid, fence is built, done. Done cheaper. I wouldn’t hire just anyone to build a house and I do all of the chores around my places myself. But in 30 years I’ll probably hire it done, and I won’t be asking for a social security number, I’ll be asking for a price. And in 30 years there will be illegal unskilled laborers here, just like there has been for decades. Ok, we are talking about two different things. I’m talking about commercial businesses not something that any random middle school or high school student would be happy to do. Sounds good, that line is quite fine though. Plenty of folks immigrate legally and illegally to the us with various skillsets, and will work for less. Lots of drywall guys, painters, roofers and many times you’d be very hard pressed to notice a difference between “skilled” legal whatever bona fide work, and an experienced whoever guy off the street. Most people want a good result at a descent price, they are going to find that word of mouth, and the last concern of anyone I know is whether they are legal or not.

From what people tell me; the marketing guy or gal that meets with the wifey typically appears and sounds to be a legal citizen. The lady of the household then signs an agreement with the expectation that the workers doing the labor would be of a similar perceived background.

In other parts of the south, and I am sure in the other areas of the country, the construction, landscape and labor industries are not overrun by illegally employed illegal aliens.
A big issue is the people who employee the illegals have padded their bottom lines for so many years with cheap labor, that having to pay actually skilled labor would make their heads explode. Everyone in the construction industry from the top down- looks the other way. Every high rise, hospital being built is chock full of illegals and everyone knows. Sure they got some sorta documents that say other wise blah blah blah. It’s a joke to make everyone pass the buck and feel good.

I don’t know…most of those big jobs are union gigs…not many illegal types working in and around the union hands. Not saying it doesn’t happen.

Don't worry, they told us they were only going after murderers and rapists. Just the hardened criminals.

Oh the horror! Who's gonna scrub our toilets? Who's gonna pick our cotton? Who's gonna pick up our garbage? I’d start with that 30-40 year old segment of folks drawing SSI.

Illegal is illegal, should we have an order of importance, it would be nice- but all illegals should go. We should, which is why they have prioritized criminals. Good luck rooting out the illegals who have been here for decades. They exist and I doubt they are going anywhere anytime soon.
