Someone could accidentally tell you they feed bass at their dock or where they shook off a monster so it makes sense.
When I am not fishing I am thinking about fishing. And mostly what I should have done differently my last trip! #Brockstarama

The only logical solution is to ban bass boats and make them all fish from the same courtesy dock. Leave no doubt.

I just think doing away with no info puts everyone on the same playing field, and you no longer have to police something that's dang near impossible to police. It’s does the opposite- you’ll have guys that get all the info, can pay for local knowledge etc. The established pros had way more connections and were using them to essentially coast on tour. Then guys started hiring guides & buying weigh points at every lake and it sort of got away from the pure skill of locating and catching bass across the country. It became about how big of a network you had and how much you were willing to spend to get info. The no info rule leveled the playing field tremendously for newer Elite's who were already at a disadvantage since they usually did not have the history on the lakes.

Someone could accidentally tell you they feed bass at their dock or where they shook off a monster so it makes sense. Which is why this disqualification doesn’t pass the “smell test “. If it was truly an inadvertent hearing of a comment, that would not fall under the rule. Engaging in a conversation about something like that would. If you inadvertently heard something, I feel like it wouldn’t weigh on your mind enough to trigger a falsification on a lie detector. I was fishing with an Elite guy one day when an old lady on a dock we were approaching said “yall guys come fish my dock…it has lots of brush around it and it’s always loaded with fish”. He simply smiled and said we can’t have that kind of information and we trolled right past that dock. No issue. He didn’t engage the person in conversation and he didn’t ask her, nor did he fish the dock. He may have been polygraphed. I was polygraphed. I passed. He finished in the top 5 that day as well.

Word on the street is he's not the only one this week. Most new about him early in the week. Probably be best if BASS cut the field down to 50 anglers. Way easier to manage.

The better spill the rest before tomorrow starts. There’s fantasy fishing implications here by God!

No info rule is dumb. Before 2018 BASS and bass fishing was better than it is today. All of those “greats” we all know and love didn’t get those accolades without information.
Just take away the rule, and let the richest man with the most resources be the most competitive. It isn’t that big of a competitive advantage.
Heck, a guy from Iowa came down and won the 1 day open at Rayburn recently.
I think they should do away with off limits also, so guys can fish the Toyotas and opens without a problem if they want.
They only guys that like the no info rules are those with great roommates. I bet wheeler loves it when he’s fishing the final day and Connell just barely missed the cut, the most relevant/ best information gets offloaded to wheeler the night before the last day. It’s great for those who have great roommates.
Make bass fishing great again, thin out that rule book.

Pardon my ignorance here, but it seems like someone truly innocent that DID NOT break a rule would be absolutely clueless as to how they failed a polygraph test. Yet Matt seems to be able to point to the exact reason he failed. To be able to bring up the exact conversation that made him fail the test leads me to believe that he is guilty as can be. Maybe I'm wrong, but it seems like an innocent man would be begging for a polygraph from another technician to prove his innocence instead of having their family explain why he failed the test, then quitting in a hissy fit. Again, maybe I'm wrong. I really know nothing about Matt. He's not a person who's career I have followed closely at all. It's a mix of arrogance, entitlement, and narcissism. Herren seems to believe he should be treated differently because so many have elevated him for being "Old School," particularly his opposition to rookie success and technology. He’s been a full-time pro on the BASS Elites since 2009, earning an average of $80K a year in winnings. Additionally, he fished FLW for 11 years, averaging about $57K annually. Over the course of 243 pro-level events, he’s secured 1 win, 3 second-place finishes, and 3 third-place finishes. As of 2024, BassFan ranked him #123 among all pro fishermen. It seems some decided to crown him a "top pro" when he led the charge against "bad rookies" and expressed negativity about FFS. Maybe he and Blaukant could start fishing buddy tournaments together...

Which is what should have happened last week. The angler should have fessed up before hand. He is probably a regular "info" guy, but by God the rookeis and FFS are ruining the integrity of the "sport" His son has been known to get online and threaten anyone who questioned anything his father had done, they make for a doosey of a 1 - 2 punch Let's not forget his arrogant hole jumping of the eventual winner at Bull Shoals/ Norfolk Arkansas , in 2016.

DO AWAY WITH THE NO INFO RULE. Everybody and their dog knows the young cats are all getting information thats how they are able to compete bodies of water so large it takes more years than they have been alive to be competitive and learn. Its damn near impossible to not break this rule... just do away with it. They all break it. Every single of one of them somehow someway.

Which is what should have happened last week. The angler should have fessed up before hand. This doesn't pass the smell test either. So the tournament isn't here yet. He reported it before the tournament......Soooo why is it a DQ? So either the rule is way to restrictive or ol Scott is fudging the truth about what really happened. Which one is it? I just don't see how dock talk falls under the no info rule when you don't engage in it. I would assume everyone that has ever fished any number of tournaments has had something similar to this happen. In the tackle store, at the cafe, hell even passing by a dock on the lake and someone starts talking about a fish they caught yesterday. It's literally unavoidable at times. My guess is there is more to the story. If not these guys better go into isolation 30 days before every tournament.
