It just drops the acidity. You can also put a chunk of carrot in to do the same thing. This is only if you're making homemade, not some processed junk out of a jar. And we're talking like a tablespoon.

And we're talking like a tablespoon. My mother was a Manzella so I know this man speaks the truth. It is really for the tomato sauce. Now if you're talking about dousing a plate of spaghetti with it, that is a different story.

I have a father in law that eats plain pasta noodles with sugar as a desert If there is extra plain noodles left over….hes from Hungary, they do stuff like that there haha

Sugar can also be used to reduce intensity of chili.
