BASS seems to have zero consistency in rules enforcement.
I'm confused on how you fine an Open angler but DQ an Elite angler for the same violation. Also confused why the other Open anglers in same event was DQd but no mention of his name ir a press release. Just one on the guy that was fined.
Meanwhile you have an Elite angler that once again had an infraction but he only gets docked 30 minutes of fishing time.
Someone make it make sense please.

Someone make it make sense please. It will never make sense until they either get rid of the rule or drastically simplify it. Every time they add to it or make a change it over complicates the rule even more. Pretty soon they will have to wear noise cancelling ear buds and turn in their cell phones before tournaments start as to not risk breaking a no info rule. Just make it something similar to Bass Champs. Can't solicit any info from someone who accessed tournament waters during the stated off limits.

Someone make it make sense please. Doesn’t each tournament series have different rules? If he broke the rule he broke the rule.

I personally think far too many people try to.find grey areas in the rule. It's not all that complicated. If you solicit info then you broke the rule. If you didn't solicit info but received info through no fault of your own then you immediately notify the TD. It's not a hard concept to me. The issue now is enforcement. They are all over the place in that regard.

How is breaking the law less impactful than someone telling you someone caught some fish somewhere?

Mark,
Lower tier anglers always get a break in these deals. Especially If it’s a first-time infraction on that trail by a young man.
Arsewipes like Herren have pushed and pushed the rules for years. “My boy was running his mouth and now I can’t fish”. Cry me a river.
A family I respect says Matt is the best. I can only base my opinion on personal interactions with him.

They are all over the place in that regard. I just looked at the Elite rules and Open rules regarding information. They are written differently. Cliff notes from my interpretation, a violation of the Elite no info rule, whether self-reported or not, results in disqualification. There is no sliding scale of punishment. The Opens rules are more ambiguous, and punishment seems to be at the discretion of the tournament director. Violation "MAY BE CAUSE" for disqualification. The enforcement doesn't seem to be the issue. Two completely different sets of rules with different punishment seems to be the culprit.

Arsewipes like Herren have pushed and pushed the rules for years. “My boy was running his mouth and now I can’t fish”. Cry me a river. But they have Elites that have multiple incidents with a short time frame that they do not seem to address beyond starting them later. That is one example. I just don't get the lack of consistency Cyis all.

My initial thought was wrong regarding the rules but to me the lack of consistency is hurting them publicly.

No doubt. PR nightmare. I watched some of the Kyle Jessie podcast he did with Chase Anderson and whoever that other guy was at the beginning. Neither instilled much confidence that they had any clue what was really going on other than where their revenue was coming from.

I’m sure he’ll be the next featured guest on the Randy Blanket show. Topic of discussion will be cheater boxes and flat brimmers, and corporate greed. This weeks episode sponsored by 10 dollar jigs and 20 dollar jerkbaits…..
