Wife's new Benz came with a one year subscription to Mercedes Me which allows remote start and probably more. I think it's $140/year afterward but that ain't gonna happen.

I use the Ford Pass app. I can check oil life, def level, fuel level, tire pressure, service interval, past service records, schedule service, remote start, lock and unlock from anywhere also get location of truck. It may be gimmicky, but it is free, and I can do it from anywhere.

My nephew was telling me he read that Ford has filed for patents that would allow them to cause your cars windows to not roll down, or the AC/Heat not work, or for the radio to play an annoying high pitch squeal... they can do that all remotely.

Idea being that if you do not make payments they start with your windows, then your AC, then add the sound etc. and ultimately... they will have the car self repo. That is right. It will lock you out drive itself back to the dealership.

Found a link. He was right. https://www.caranddriver.com/news/a43126498/ford-patent-autonomous-systems-vehicle-repossession/

I have a 2019. I bought Apple Car play that plugs into one of the USB ports ($50). It connects wirelessly to my iphone when I start my truck. I then use the Waze app for navigation. Android also has a version that does the same thing.

Waiting on Bob Davis' next selfie

That could happen it appears but won't have an adverse effect to what has been sold I believe. If this does happen it will most likely backfire and lead to declining sales. We shall see.

well that explains why my mommas new Caddy doesnt have an owners manual. When she asked for one they "required" her to download it on her phone when they linked it up.

I have this on my 2019 F150 too. I like it. I like the remote start when it's cold so it can warm up and defrost/de-ice.

I agree. I think a la carte pricing is gonna become more mainstream on a lot of things.

What subscriptions do you have on your new vehicles?

I would just have remote start added at an auto shop instead of paying a monthly charge.

I wouldn't buy it just because of that BS

Same here. Freaking stupid.

No vehicle subscriptions here. Still have Netflix and YouTube Premium, for now.
