In the Winter 2007 issue of Fly Tyer there was an article by Jay "Fishy" Fullum on tying the Nail-Um which is a fly tied using fake finger nails and artic fox fur.

It looked interesting so I start haunting the dollar stores buying fake fingers nails. I took my wife to reduce the stares as I went thru them. I ended buying 4 or 5 packages. Some had what appears to be little diamonds which have a nice sparkle to them.

After tying quite a few, I started looking at the small finger nails wondering what could I do with them.

I have been tying mop flies and the small nails looked the perfect size to go on their back side

I super glued the small nails to the mop flies and they look the perfect bream size.
