The Academy in my area usually has a nice variety of fishing tackle. They had a clearance sale about two weeks ago.  Same here

I was at Academy 2 days ago and the guys said they were about to mark the clearance stuff down to 75% off. That was after I had already bought a ton of stuff from a few other stores at the 50% off clearance price. Oh well, either way it's a heck of a deal on some good stuff.

Should be soon. Sign up for their email, it's usually 50% off for 2 weeks then to 75%. The good stuff sells quick at 50%

Arlington academy had more than most. I spent 46 bucks yesterday on cranks, spinner baits and a few plastics and saved 100 bucks.

I got some of the shimano Fluor for 6bucks per 200 yd spool, never used it before, and a few packs of worms for 65 cents each. Really picked over, down to 1 small rack.

Terrell Academy only had one rack left and they were tearing it down. I was able to snag 4 packs of Gamakatsu hooks for .99 each.

Checked out the Tyler store….I have as much tackle in my boathouse and boat as this store has….NADA I stopped in there a couple days ago. Man that place has dropped off. Don’t think I will return. Pitiful! I stopped in there a couple of days ago myself and if I was looking for shoes or clothing on sale it would have been fine, but the fishing selection sucked. I stopped going to the Academy in Tyler years ago. Their stocking is nonexistent.

I spoke to a guy (someone in the know ) a few years ago about Academy and at that time there were some fairly new owners.
He said the new guys did not care one bit about the fishing and hunting department .
They wanted to make their money in all other goods as shoes, baseball gloves, and sports stuff and clothing.
Take a look at all their stores all have more of the products I listed for sale.
He said eventually they would probably kill the fishing / hunting Dept.
Looks like it is happening. : (
