The few crappie that may have been shallow, moved back out to 6-12 FOW. The rest that were staging in the upper end of a lake just stayed put, but may have drifted a little deeper. Those down lake didn't change where they were. This time of year it's always a guessing game.

Larger lakes in north texas they’re probably starting to transition to prespawn but still deep, a little further south I suspect 10-20’. I’d suspect north texas the water temps are in the 40s and have been for a while. Needs to be in the 60s for them to start spawning. Will be a while. 2-3 days of 65 degree daytime temps ain’t gonna cut it. And of course they may start to push up and then with the next front they’ll be gone. Weather really needs to stabilize.

It has really turned them on at the crappie house on Lake Eddlemanhere at Graham. Both units at the power plant are running and the keeper fish are biting.
I fish on the edge and stay out of the middle

Went out today on Lake o the Pines and the fish have moved back out in the 30-35 ft depth, but were not biting. Water temp around 43 degrees.

They were cold at Patman! Had to hold it on their nose for a while to get a reaction. Most just ran off. I bet it’s awesome by next weekend with this warm snap’

Just wondering about your thoughts on crappie movement with the clod spell. Last Saturday the roamers were jumping in my boat, Sunday and Monday I couldn't get near them, if I did they wouldn't bite.
