Not very confidence inspiring. My Steez and Tatula reels are very consistent and almost impossible to backlash when setup correctly.

I owned a few Zillions and Steeze. Their definitely nice reels and every bit as good as Shimano. If they did away with the t-wing I'd give them another whirl. When I fish bottom contact I keep my index finger under the line for feel and out of habit. After a few casts it causes the line to ball up on one part of the spool to the point of jamming up. Every few casts I had to make one and just reel in to level it back out. For that reason alone I sold them all.

Exactly me too. The Tatulas elites are INCREDIBLY smooth reels but I hate the TW. Terrible. I will crank with Daiwa though.

You wouldn’t need to do that if you had Falcon rods.
cheers

I have 3 SLX DC reels and love them. I only use them for cranking though, very hard to backlash at that. The noise they make is kinda funny and weird. They work great for me in that application.

That's no shiz! I recently got my first high end Falcon (Cara Heavy Cover Jig) and the sensitivity in that thing is phenomenal.

I think the Cronarch is best bang for the buck.

That’s one of falcons best rods imo. They’re nice and durable.

I like my Curado DC's. My hearing ain't what it used to be so I barely hear the whine.

I’ve blown up the anti reverse on 3 SLX… I’m told it’s the same anti reverse that’s in the curado but have never had anything similar with the curado. I’m talking all of the little rollers coming out of the plastic collar, they then get in the gears and seize up the reel. Still have 1 SLX in the mix, use it for techniques that don’t require a high shock hook set.

same here, and the DC is definitely a step up on smoothness over the K models, especially after a few years of use

I'm all Curados across the board. Best reels I've ever owned. Seem to be bullet proof!

SLX XT gets the nod on everything else.

The SLX DC is garbage. I owned a Curado DC for one trip. Sold it. Could not stand the sound it made. Like nails on a chalk board to me for some reason. I usually set the wind dial on the SLX XT's between 2-3 and have no backlash issues regardless of what I am throwing. Except for 1 of them that is 6-7 years old. It can get temperamental from time to time if I am throwing something too light in the wind. It squeals a little bit too. Hasn't kicked the bucket yet though.

The SLX dc is my favorite reel. I don’t dabble in high end reels though. It casts a lot further than anything else I have but the majority of what I have are the BPS pro qualifier reels, and a few nice Lews.
