A salesman sells one brand.
A broker can sell many brands.
You want a true broker who will enter the info into a database and in a few minutes, will have multiple quotes from different insurance companies. A true broker also has market knowledge like which Insurance Companies are difficult to collect from.

Go to independent agent, they will save you money because they can shop different company's to get you the best price.

To get the best service you should change company's every three (3) years.

We saved thousands back a year or two ago after going to a broker. We got equal or better coverage from reputable companies. Wish we would have done it years ago.

I have used a broker the last 10 years. Got a flyer from Allstate recently and they're going to end up saving us $3k a year over the cheapest option from any of the brokers. I imagine I'll be back with the broker after allstate increases premiums at renewal, but for now I don't have much of a choice.

Homeowners for me is renewing now- it’s basically 1% annually of the property value. Between taxes and insurance you never own your own place…

I bundled with Allstate awhile back and saved some decent money. My auto renewed and it went up 15$ for semiannual premium. Still ok with the rates.
