When we went the beaches were heavily guarded and they wouldnt let you get close to the water. It did do a very steep decline to the aqua.

Beautiful pictures. I'm jelly... and cold

When we were there in December they had signs everywhere to not go down to the water and sitting at the pool at our resort I could certainly see why. You got to go fishing, it’s outstanding, by far the best vacation we have been on.

I understand that there is one beach on the other side of the marina from where we are that has a safe beach. But the strong undertow is a problem everywhere else.

Based on what I saw yesterday the uptops sleep in and don't come out to play until the afternon.

This is true for most beaches and resorts unless you stay on Medano beach south of the marina where you see the large arches in the water most people have seen when looking at Cabo photos.

I have stayed on Medano beach, water is calm and easily swimmable, we swam every day and laid on floats in the ocean. Water is beautiful and no seaweed or sargassum which is always an issue in Cancun area.

After going to Cabo I will not return to Cancun/riviera Maya side anymore for many reasons.
In Cabo, much nicer, better food, safer, can walk the streets at night with out fear. High end restaurants, no sewer smell, no seaweed on beach, and water is very pretty, not to mention temps are a lot cooler and no humidity.

I have been to Cancun/RM over 10 times in the last 20 years, but no longer.
And fishing is always great, not just a boat ride like on Cancun, trust me I have been on a few..
