I bought the ballows mix based on reviews here. Plan on 1lb sausage, 2lbs of ground beef, 1 can of tomato sauce, 15oz of beans- I despise beans in chili but this crowd thinks it’s a requirement. Anything else I should add? Do you drain the meat after you cook it or just leave the fat in?

I would brown the meat first….keeping just enough of the hot liquid fat to sautee a diced onion….then build the chili from there.

I would drain some of it off, just because of the amount you will most likely have from the sausage. I wouldn’t drain it all though. Please don’t put beans in it. Just cook some on the side and let those who want them put them in themself.

Are we just going to ignore the sausage part? Ok only if it’s breakfast sausage.

Beans are an automatic DQ, it's chili not soup.
