The students that took out the loans didn't ask for anyone to repay their loan. The last president said they should be forgiven not the kids that took the loan. Now had I taken out a loan and the president forgave it so I didn't have to pay it back, you damn right I would've let that happen. I believe most anyone would.

When the Feds got into the Student loan business the Universities saw a cash cow. They could charge whatever they want and the government will loan the money to the students. Some of these Universities are like the Taj Mahal with their buildings.

Flippy hit it on the head. You should see the building at OU for them poor, suffering football players....:) And don't get me started on their insane football stadium....
And you want to see taj mahal then go by Stanford.....it will blow your mind how luxurious it is. But it does deserve its high ranking since some of our best minds went there and hopefully today's brightest go there. Too bad it's cost is far out range for kids that are our brightest but didn't come from money or have the right connections. But that's a whole other topic.

As a college graduate, I couldn't fathom someone, other than myself , being responsible for my tution. You must not be a 20-year-old. Kids these days have been taught that they aren't responsible for anything, and they are due everything.

If you were not at least a solid B student in HS, you should consider trade school. If you were a C student, trade school should be your best and only option as far as higher education goes. Half the kids going to college now are NOT college material, end of story.

Kids have to plan for college their freshman year of highschool. Scholarships are out there for the kids that REALLY want to learn. I was a [censored] in highschool, but excelled at music and had my bachelors paid in full to Baylor. You just have to set your goals.
