Well my rig is old but she gets the job done. I will say even though she’s old she handles rough water like a champ. I also needed a rod holder but didn’t like anything that’s out there so I built one. I hope someone finds it useful. [Linked Image]

The square tubing is 1” square and the flat is 1 1/2”, in case anyone wants to build their own. The rode holders are wire rod holders($4.97) from Walmart.

I shared quite a bit from this boat build here on the forum back in later 2017 into early 2018, not sure what the title was or if it can be searched. Had to throw in a pic of the kiddo showing why we had it built. Big and ugly but it does what we want. (https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/ubbthreads.php/topics/12656171/building-a-boat#Post12656171) Searched my old posts and found the thread here when the boat was built, quite a few pics)

I built those rod holders that way because of the limited space and I needed something I can easily remove.

This is my dragging rig except that I don’t have the dragging weights at the house right now. The three way swivel will have a 3oz dragging weight attached to it and the snap swivel on the end of my line. The line is 85# braid that snakes through the front and rear eyes of the float and ties to a barrel swivel at the leader. The leader is 60# wire. Without measuring it, I think I made them 11”-12” long. From the three way swivel to the float is about 30”. The line is taped to the float using Gorilla duct tape so I can move the float up or down to vary the distance the bait is off the bottom. These are a couple of the finishes I put on the floats. I painted some red slashes on some of the chartreuse ones. The glitter float was brushed with waterproof glue and rolled in glitter. I have put red treble hooks on the center ring of the glitter floats and caught small channel cats on them. I buy the floats off Amazon where they’re $11 for 10 of them unpainted. I’ve got some stinger flies ordered as trailers on the main hook but haven’t gotten them yet. If I’m getting a lot of bites from smaller fish that grab the end of the bait, I’ll put a double hook on that I made and surprise them.

Very cool rig there. I have wanted to make some drag rigs but I don’t know enough about them or how to use them correctly. I will be building some noodle jug lines this week for this coming week. Hopefully they turn out ok and land me some lunkers.

I run this rig - bank or boat, drifting or anchored - I may swap the lead to slinky weights if getting hung up . I vary my leader from 16" - 24"- 36" with a 3" peg float 4-6" above the hook

I Want one of these :
