Worst. [censored]. Ever. I can't buy or sell it seems.

Everybody wants my address before we've even established any kind of vetting communication. I'll explain what side of Denton I'm in but I'm not giving you my damn address.

When trying to buy, I make it personable enough to where they know I'm not a scammer. I lay out my "I'm free to take a look and bring money most of the day/week" Crickets

Have yall ever seen the names on these accounts? There are a ton they're not even an actual human name in any language.

My favorite is when they ask you for a picture of the item when there are several pix posted with the item on the listing.

Sorry to hear your issues, I have not experienced the problems you have with Facebook Marketplace and have not had any issues with it.

The problem is as good as a seller as you might be the other half are trying to scam you.

Yeah, I guess it really depends on what you're looking to buy. I will say some of the names have been obviously fictious at times and those I just don't even mess with. I bought a ton of stuff on there the last 3 years without issue.

No issues here either. I have a buddy that uses it almost exclusively with good results.

I hate marketplace. Wife bought me a new roll a way tool box for Christmas. So after finally transferring my tools to the new one I posted the old one cheap. Within the first hour I had 37 idiots message me. Will you hold it until the end of the month, will you take half of what you're asking, can you deliver, I have to ask my wife, will you trade for a broken lawn mower, ect. ect. ect. Finally the 38th person said I'll take it and can pick it up now.

I would rather give it away than deal with this nonsense.

Try to buy a firearm off Texas Gun Trader. Never know where the folks are, they wanna ship, and I wanna see the firearm IN PERSON. I'll drive up to 4 hours. Last guy I finally found out he was in Ft Stockton, 9 hours away. Not gonna work and I told him so He finally said for $100 he'd drive over here. Nope ... not paying the extra $. I'm deciding folks don't know how to put a decent ad out there.

I have bought a few things off of FB Marketplace that were good deals and easy transaction.

I've had good luck for the most part. Bought a camera lens on there today. Contacted the seller Fri, messaged today and picked it upb45 minutes later. I only buy within 20 miles of the house.
20 years ago I bought a shaved ice trailer in Dayton Ohio. Paid for it up front, drove up Saturday, Arrived on Sunday, hooked it up and headed home. Used that thing for about 6 years and sold it.

I rarely buy on Marketplace but I sell a lot of items. First rule is I include in my listing that generic "Is it available" inquiries will be ignored (because there is a button that says "Is it available" and 90% of those inquiries are just people clicking the button which takes no effort. Second rule is when someone wants an address, I tell them the town I am in and the hours I am available, then I say that when you are ready to leave for my town, message me and only then will I send address or meeting place. Third, and most important, no phone calls or texts.

With all of that I have pretty much minimal problem other than no shows. On rare occasions I will hold an item for a day or two, but mostly it is first come, first served.
