It’s Saturday morning at Rayburn and the wind is blowing 2- 4 mph. This stuff is getting ridiculous and plays right into the evil livescoper’s hand.

The preemptive cancellations are bs.

I agree…wind isn’t blowing today anything like what was forecast.

TD made a decision based on weather models. BFL canceled their Saturday tournament on Toledo BEFORE BASS canceled Day3 at Rayburn. Several other area tournaments were canceled based upon these same forecasts.

For the conspiracy theorists please see the “Chemtrails” post in off topic. The rest of you need to go fishing!

The same system the NWS was concerned about has been rolling through Fork the past hour or so. Wind isn’t too bad but the lightning will kill you!

p.s. - I’ll bet 90% of the Opens field would have LOVED three days of practice and a one day shootout if advertised as such. Maybe 100%.

Toledo bend and sam are not equal when it comes to wind. In a south west wind you have the option of running the south west side of the lake basically clear to 147. Toledo forces you to the middle in the boat lane. You were in the platinum deal when we all took off from Humphries into a north wind which then shifted east lol. I tend to agree with Castledines idea that basically no matter the actual circumstances if there is a small craft advisory now they are gonna cancel stuff. Driven by litigation caused by idiots. The idiots part are my words not his lol.

FOUZ- I’m not saying the TD shouldn’t cancel for high winds…just not 2 days before the fact.
I just got off the lake- it’s not blowing that hard, hell my wife was with me and she won’t go when it’s rough.

Has there ever been a tournament trail that got sued due to an injury from weather conditions where it wasn’t cancelled.

Yes. Not specifically because it wasn’t canceled. But yes, there have been a slew of lawsuits filed related to bass tournaments and boating related injuries over the years. Google is your friend.

I’ll just shut it now. Argue away.

They launch at Umphreys which forces everyone through the roughest waves. No matter the wind direction. Start going to Cassels.
