Thats odd because it seems like every time i try to get an inspection it ends up being a PIA.

Half the time, "Our guy that does inspections is gone today". Huh, you only have one guy that can do inspections?

Then its, "You have a code for something on emissions. Might just need a new gas cap". There isnt a gas cap dude.

and "You havent driven the required 80 miles after the battery was disconnected, so youll have to come back after that before we can check it again."

One headlight and the front indicator appears to work; but the other headlight and the rear indicator….nope.

My favorite is the people driving around with the high beams on because the low beams are burned out.

Dallas rush hour is already hell. Its nearly mad max out there on the daily...

So why do we still get charged for it on your tags?

I used to do state inspections and would do a lot of them. The lady that was over the DPS inspection division said that I was doing too many of them. She said that it should take anywhere from 45 minutes to an hour to do one. I told her that if I had to spend that long to do an inspection, that they could come and get there stuff. We quit doing them. Besides, if you own the car or truck, it should be your responsibility to make sure it's safe! Most state inspectors passed them anyway even if they wouldn't pass!
