Is there a difference in some parts? Just replaced my impeller doing maintenance in the winter and the impeller that came off was the same size but was a lot heavier than the new quicksilver one. The middle ring on the heavy one looks brass, the quicksliver looks galvanized or even oxidized like an anode gets.

Not a mechanic. So don’t take my word for anything other than opinion.sounds like you found a difference n the impeller between oem and QS aftermarket .for me I put OEM anything in my Sho from impellers filters engine oil spark plugs. . Only exception I’ve made is merc lower unit fluid. Right, wrong, indifferent

Only difference between Mercury and Quicksilver is the labeling. Mercury labeled parts are sold through authorized Mercury dealers. Quicksilver labels are sold through other retailers

if your doing scheduled routine maintenance on consumable parts, both parts are made for your motor and will easily make it to the next interval - and beyond really, why pay more for a branded box...

As stated above, there is no difference in quicksilver and Mercury products other than packaging and labeling. Most small OEM parts we order and receive from mercury are in Quicksilver boxes/packaging. Having said that i would imagine you are replacing the impeller on a 2.5 liter 2 stroke engine maybe? There are 2 different impellers Merc/Quick offers and the only difference is one has a brass insert and one has a fiber insert. Both are fine to use. Obviously the brass will be heavier than the fiber. 89984T3 is the Fiber insert 89984T4 is the Brass insert

Quicksilver also replaces the worlds biggest rip off, Yamalube. Seafoam replaces one of the other biggest rip offs, Ring Free.
