Coastguard plane circles over area, with 2 crew pulled out of water and taken to hospital...
They'd been flying a Boeing Growler electronic warfare jet...

What’s going on? Are the pilots texting on the internet during flight pre check?

We didn’t talk about the one in the Philippines (sp) the other day. One Marine and a few contractors deceased. They were doing almost exactly what I used to do.
This one hits close to home. Sad

This one hits close to home. Sad Sgt Durham. He was actually a student of mine several years ago. Bright kid. RIP Brother.

There’s a blast from the past, as a kid I lived in base housing at Whidbey Naval Base home of VAQ133 an EA6B squadron my stepdad was a technician of some sort for. Was always on the enterprise when sailing.

TBF, the Growler is technically the superior package - more advanced avionics/electronics of course, easier to fly, and only requires 2 aircrew vs 4. But it's a F/A-18 variant... yuck lol.
But the EA6B (and A-6 it was based off) was an engineeriing marvel for it's day, for sure.
