To begin with, the water flow is pretty slow. The whites have arrived, but the average size is 101/4 to 10 1/2 inches. The crowd has arrived as well. A few anglers have dialed it in and are catching limits. But for thew.most, anglers are catching around ten fish. Over all, it's slow, but there are some fish there to catch. I had a better day yesterday, I caught 27 in three hours, but it's smaller fish.

You go Fishytx. I have not had a chance to make it out fishing yet this year. My back has been giving my fits lately. Sucks getting old.

You don't have to explain to me about back issues. It takes me about an hour to doctor up my back just to get ready to go fish. I'll have to wait several days after this rain so the banks can dry up a little before going again. If I slip and bust my rear end, it could cause some major issues. So glad we're getting this rain though, every drop that falls can only help out this years spawn. From a distance, it looks like 2 inches in our rain gage, but it's a guess. I told my pain management doctor that I wanted to get a full scope MRI of my spine so maybe I could see why I have chronic pain in my lower back and neck. The results were shocking. I had four sections in my neck fused. And I have scoliosis in my lower back. The lower back thing is a long story, I have decided not to have a major surgery to try and fix it. Like I said, long story about what all is involved in this type of surgery with no guarantee that it will fix it. The risk far out weighs the reward, I'll leve it at that.

So I made a quick drive to the steps to look at the water. Still a little early to see the full rise, but it has come up about three inches and the water is real muddy. I did fish a little bit, caught four, but it was so slow I decided not to stay and grind it out. In a few days the water will clear some and I think there will be some good fishing. We shall see. Unfortunately, this week will be my last chance to fish for a while. All of next week I have some obligations to attend to and I will not be fishing.
