When we lived in Lewisville I could find crappie at 121 marina all winter long. Now we live by Texoma and the crappie were in our marina up untill a couple weeks ago but seem to have left. Anyone have an idea of why? Thanks.

Hey onfire it's Little Glasses marina. Are they out of big mineral as well? Up until two or three weeks ago we had them in there strong but now they have disappeared and I was hoping one of the crappie guys might have an idea as to why.

I was told the fishing was pretty good up until about the 2nd week of January. Iโve been several times since then and only catch 3 or 4 throwbacks and a keeper or two every time I go. I canโt help but think some consistent warmer weather would help a bunch. We have two slips in two different boathouses at Big Mineral. One in 12โ and the other is 21โ. Both boathouses have been particularly poor this year.

On Texoma in the marinas the crappie in the winter will be much shallower than you think. January-March we would KILL them in 6-12ft of water. And the LOVE to hang out under jet ski lifts. I found a patter on year where I would take a pumpkin yum dinger and rip it so it was about 4in long and drag it around on the bottom with a light jig head but a bigger hook. It was deadly.

We have slips in 2 different boat houses and now one is in about 9โ of water and the other is in about 19โ with the lake being 4 feet low. Fishing has been terrible in both boat houses especially the shallow one.
