 USPS fails again..

Bought a new truck the first week of January. Big dealership. Paid Tax, Title and License of course. Admin at the dealership buys the plates/registration and mails them to me 17 days ago. Mails them USPS to me because I live almost an hour away from the dealership. Today, still no plates/registration. I got the title and the County Tax office shows the registration and plates are paid for. The Post office tells me that if license plates are mailed from Titus County to an address in Wood County, they FIRST have to go to Dallas, then from Dallas to the distribution hub out in East Texas somewhere then to the local post office then to me. In the last two months, I have had a Debit card and License plates stolen in the mail. I am beyond pizzed. So I have to go to get replacement plates tomorrow.

I sure hope you don’t get stuck in that vicious loop from Dallas back to the previous location and then back to Dallas. Rinse and repeat.

Man that sucks.
I had a terrible experience with the USPS that involved theft that I don't think I should post about in the open forum. Quite shocking though.

The moral of the story is NEVER, EVER mail anything of obvious value in the USPS system. The dealer should never send plates in the mail. Looks like it will cost me $6.50 to get replacements at the Tax office and the dealer said they would re-imburse me but still............... It just doesn't make sense to me that it would take even a week to mail plates a 50 mile distance.

It’s the distribution hub…….somewhere in Texas.
But ours is in Shreveport Louisiana, make sense.

I order products from a company in Georgia. Instead of shipping it from Georgia to Tyler, it goes to Dallas first, then ships back to East Texas!

Here is actual tracking on an item I ordered recently. It was sent from Missouri, made it to Texas then was sent to Florida and has been back in Texas a couple of days. Its insane.

Are you sure they mailed them? When I bought my car in September 2020, they assured me the plates would be mailed to me. When the expiration date on the paper plate came and went, I called the dealership...they were sitting in the receptionist's desk drawer. Yeah. So, maybe the incompetence isn't with the post office (although it very well could be), but with the dealership.

I'm waiting on something from USPS myself right now.
Sat in Dallas for 3 or 4 days says it's out for delivery now. We shall see.
If my package ends up at Bob's house he'll be disappointed it's not his plates.
