Thanks for the replies. I'm more in the camp of a coon than a beaver. Found one of those dead in my front yard a number of years ago. Have NO idea how it got there. It might have been shot or died near the water and floated along until it ended up on our ramp and became turtle and buzzard food.

This pic of a coon skeleton pretty much seals the deal. .

Otter? I've seen a ton of them at Fork and they have tiny arms that seem like they could easily fall off.
