My wife has had a broken hip and fractured spinal vertebrae which makes it hard for her to enter a vehicle. I am looking at a new truck and can't find anything online that will tell me what the step up height is for the front door of a 2024/2025 Silverado 1500 Custom 2WD with the standard 20" wheels. Short of taking a tape measure with me to Whataburger and checking out someone's truck, I thought i would ask if anyone can tell me how far from the ground it is to step into the door sill and how high the seat is from ground level. In our Honda CRV, she is able to put here butt in first and then swing her legs in but I doubt there is a truck on the market that would enable her to do that.
A friend of mine has a fully loaded Ford F-150 that had the extendable running boards that came out when you opened the door, but I am not sure those are available on GM product.

I won't buy another truck without the auto-running boards. LOVEEEE them on my 21Ram.

You can get auto running boards on any truck. Might be a good idea to go to a local Chevy dealership, find what you like, then PM Monte Coon here and get a great deal.

I have a 24 Silverado 1500 with fixed running boards. A guy I play golf with has the same truck with automatic running boards. My wife is 5' 2" and needs the running board to get into the truck.

Yep, although the 1/2 tons aren’t tall, the seats are. You’ll definitely need running boards, I’m long legged 6’1” and have to use them.

My wife is recovering from a broken hip. It’s been 3 months and she still can’t get in my 2018 Silverado 1/2 ton with running boards.

I am thinking the same thing; I don't really like the look for the Chevy Colorado and I see the Canyon as much nicer but way overpriced. I test drove a Hyundai Santa Cruz but it did nothing for me. Next stop is a Honda Ridgeline. After driving Ford F150s and Chevy Silverados for decades, this may be a big change to go to a smaller truck. Back about 1989 I bought a new Ford Ranger XLT and drove it for 3 years but the new ones are nothing like that. Times have changed. My favorite truck of all time was my 2006 Chevy Silverado SS .....loved that truck!
