Peralta’s in Grand Saline and Quitman used to have that liquid margarine stuff in a squirt bottle on the table. I was always amazed at how many people I saw squirting it into the salsa and directly onto their chips and then dipping it into the salsa.

First I've heard of it & never seen it around my small area in CenTex. Some of the Mex. restaurants around here do go a little overboard with the heat in their salsa though.
