I made the post veteran and his veteran son looking for a ride on Fork. Well, a great dude answered and helped us out. First of all, big thanks to Clint from TFF here for taking my son and me out on the water. Helluva guy and we had a great time. My son had never really messed with electronics at all and even if the fish didn’t wanna cooperate he got a lot out of seeing how that all worked. Well, as many of you predicted, the bass did NOT want to play. We fished Fork til around lunch and then Clint trailered up and we followed him over to Holbrook and we zeroed there as well. Maybe next time. We still had a blast and it’s always great to make a new fishin buddy. Funny story to the end of the weekend…We stayed at the waterfront cabins at Popes marina and Sunday night we had a container of punch stink bait in one of our bags so we rigged up and threw some lines out for cats while we grilled some burgers and ended up catching a mess of eating size channel cats right off the dock behind our cabin. Unfortunately I didn’t bring stuff to capitalize on that but we coulda had a nice fish fry. So we at least weren’t TOTALLY skunked on Fork. Thanks again Clint for a great day on the water. Maybe we can link up in the future and really get on em when the weather is actually right.

Thanks for sharing, and updating us on your teip. Kudos to Clint for stepping up, WTG for taking your time to help them out. Bass bite is rough in January for me, and from the last 10 trips I have had on my little local lake in DFW (Grapevine), the early bite is key. After 10am it's brutally tough, so the early bird does get the worm.

I will post a link of your report to your original thread so people will get the "Rest of the Story."

Goo-day~

As GTrigg said, you had a great weekend for weather. Thanks to Clint for taking them out. Glad you at least caught some cats to eat.

If you were on Holbrook on Sunday we might have seen you out there. We boated about a dozen off of Livescope

Winds were too much for us to consider Fork

Goodman, were you scoping around out there in no man’s land? We saw a couple boats out there doing that so we probably did see you.

Yup. We actually did decently on that pattern. Were you in the wrapped boat?

What a joke, without FFS you would have the same success as your back seater. Pretty lame posting your vanity show on someone else’s humble thanks.

Kudos to Clint
