I haven't been sick in years............. It doesn't hurt the fact I have three kids in Middle or High School. If it's going around it's coming to the Spagnola house. I don’t miss those days. Elementary and middle school years, I think my kids were sick the entire time, and naturally, we were catching it from them. Hs wasn’t as bad, but not great

you have at least 2 more weeks of being miserable with lingering cough , head fog, and general loathing for whomever concocted this up.
not even close to the random annual crud we used to deal with. My exact experience as well as that of most everyone I know that has had it.

It will get you back to normal fast. I usually can get it done at a Doc-in-a-box and back to normal w/in a day.

She is still in distress but its getting better. Yesterday morning she woke up in a lot of pain in the abdomen. The doctor thinks is probably a pulled or torn muscle due to all her coughing. We are going to get a CT scan in a couple hours to see.

They did shut down most of the schools in OKC and surrounding cities last friday. They said they were short on bus drivers and teachers because of the flu.

This year’s strain is an unusually bad one. I don’t know if it’s true but had a doc once tell me that the shots were typically 65% effective at best and can be as low as 35% like this year’s strain. Our school district closed last Friday and Monday. They missed the mark on this seasons flu shot by a wide margin. I’m retired and just try my best to stay away from people and wash my hands like some lunatic. My most memorable flu was 30 or 40 years ago and had just started demoing the kitchen - water was first thing to get disabled and had about 25% of the countertop and cabinets gone. Had to wash dishes in the dang bathroom sink for a week! One of the few times my second ex-wife didn’t ask me why I tore up the kitchen right before I got the flu.

I've spent about 30 years now working the fire service, EMS and hospital ERs. I've been around sick folks a lot over the years and feel like I have a super-charged immune system from time spent in those environments. When a bug or virus knocks me on my butt it's usually a pretty strong strain. This bout that I am getting over hit me fairly hard so I feel like the hype is legitimate about how it's affecting others.

And now I feel like I have taken so much medicine that my stomach feels like I drank gasoline. Im not supposed to take steroids because of a skin thing I have, but I broke down and took some this morning. When I got out of the shower I had been coughing so much one of my ears were bleeding. Oh well.

Oh well. Uhhh I think you should go the hospital. I feel like if blood comes from your ears. Its time to see someone lol. And that is coming from a guy who had shingles for a 10 days before I thought, you know maybe I need to see a Dr.

Be sure to see a doc, just so they can take your money and say it's something viral. Wife and I went through this junk for a 3 week period. Kids got it after us, but thankfully got through it within a week. My doc pretty much told me to take Mucinex. Wife got steroids, inhaler, etc. So I ended up sharing her meds.
